Husna

India’s amazing Piyush Mishra performing at Coke Studio MTV India.
The song is a letter from one ‘Javed’ who was separated from his lover ‘Husna’ during the bloody Partition of India in 1947 that drew an artificial border dividing the Punjab, dividing millions and causing the slaughter of a million. Here Mishra wails about the powerlessness of love in face of politics. Enjoy.

Bulleh Shah

India’s Rabbi Shergil pays tribute to Punjab’s greatest poet, Bulleh Shah

Bulleh Shah (1680–1757) was a Punjabi Sufi poet, humanist and philosopher who can be said to be the earliest of secular Muslims of India, rejecting and openly challenging the clergy. For rejecting the Islamic orthodoxy, he was declared an infidel.

An Ode to Baba Farid

Khwaja Farīduddīn Mas’ūd Ganjshakar was a Muslim missionary in Punjab who is equally revered by both Sikhs and Muslims. Also known as Baba Farid (1173–1266) the saint stands in sharp contrast to the radical Islam that has swept his birthplace. Here, the Pakistani communist band ‘Laal’ (Reds) sing an ode to the great poet of Punjab.

Good honest people have been seeking peace in chaos for centuries.May we all think and act in a way that some day the drunkenness/blindness caused by Religion, Language, Wealth, Nationality and Greed will disappear and we will be able to live in peace for the good of humankind as well as the rest of the living beings including plants on this planet.

Just did a YouTube search on ‘maulvi sex scandal’ and found hundreds of videos. Every religion has crazy preachers who think religion is their private property.

Viewing your interviews, with all the studies and and comments, you have given a different perspective of the facts to us that till date we thought were not our concern.

It is true that for the whole of student life in Indian schools, the pupils are taught only one singular view of history. Your lateral view does shake the brain to think and make a fair judgement of the facts, so exposed, but still hidden from the general public.

    Dear Tarek,

I am a regular reader of your tweets. Great work and thanks for your sincere support for Baloch cause and exposing Islamists. I just want you to correct one error on the title of the songs posted on your site. “Danah Pah Danah” is not Balochi but a Brahvi song. Brahvi is the second most widely spoken language of Balochistan which is very different from Balochi.

Tarek Sir, Probably you don’t know and people don’t realize how SPECIAL your insights are – straight from heart and precious like diamonds. More needs to be done to spread the light of your knowledge, to clear away the darkness of ignorance that has spread all over the world. Perhaps a well researched book be published on all your clarifications and knowledge that you have shared. These facts can then be hardcoded and available to for all to see. Good luck Sir in all your endeavors. My sincerest best wishes and prayers are with you.

    dear sir,

I heard in one of your interviews that you were writing a book entitled “the hindu is not my enemy”. could you please let us know when can we expect the book ?

I recently read the tragic illusion of an islamic state and the logical arguments with reference to the beliefs is quite interesting. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors and wish you a long life and happiness >

I like your songs collection. I would like to recommend you to listen Rafi saahab or add some of his good songs if you already his listener. He is a Godlike legendary singer and true person for the whole world an we Indians are so proud of him. I would like to recommend this song of Rafi saahab.

I’m originally from Spain, now living in the USA. Your namesake landed in Gibraltar in 711 CE and I have read about the history of the Moors in Spain since I was a kid. The glory days of Cordoba and Granada which at their time were the jewels of the Western world spark the imagination with tales of riches, adventure and discovery. How great it would be to see the heart of Islam turn to the times were Christian, Jew, Hindu and Moslem co-existed in peace in those great cities! When Muslim scientists were at the forefront of the understanding of the unverse and the planet in which we live. The library of Al-Hakam II rivaling in grandeur the very library of Alexandria. Books from the Classic Greek philosopers were being translated into Arabic, Latin, AND Hebrew. Jewish stonemasons helped build the colums of the Great Mosque. Intellectuals were held in the highest steem in those societies. Now here we are over a thousand years later working hard to bring Islam back to that high standard of civilization. I commend you and thank you for all you’re doing.
