A vigilante mob of religious zealots in Pakistan, allegedly belonging to the party of a Canadian cleric hell-bent on overthrowing the democratically elected government in Islamabad, beat an injured police officer to death. The circumstances of how the cop came into the mob’s hands are unclear, but the violent nature of the political discourse in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is quite evident in this video.
At least one of the men armed with heavy wooden batons has his stick painted in the colours of the party of the Canadian cleric, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek or PAT. Here is the party flag showing the exact same colours painted on the weapon.
The death of the police officer has led to murder charges against the Canadian cleric, Tahir-ul-Qadri.
