Jihadi battle cry adorns mural outside Toronto mosque

“Which begs the question. Who is the enemy this Toronto mural wants Muslims to fight against? Where is this non-Arab territory that this mural wishes us Muslims to conquer and be victorious over? Could it be Canada?”

In the ongoing argument in Quebec about the proposal by the Parti Quebecois to outlaw all displays of religious symbols by public servants, there is general consensus the real issue is not the cross or the kippa, but the hijab and niqab.

What concerns many in Quebec is part of a larger movement among Islamists in the West to vigorously assert their presence as well as their separateness from non-Muslims, whom they consider the adversary, if not the divinely designated enemy.

If Muslims wearing religion on their sleeves, with the rise of hijabs and niqabs is seen as objectionable, imagine how Quebeckers would react if they saw what one Toronto-area mosque has adorned on its wall, in a huge, two-storey mural.

It’s part of a Quranic verse that has over centuries been a battle cry of jihadis and the armies of the Islamic world.

The mural has verse 13 of the Qur’an’s chapter 61 “Al-Saff” (The Battle Array) painted in tasteful Arabic calligraphy.

It reads: “Help from Allah (is near) and a speedy victory (is assured).”

The words are innocuous and otherwise poetic.

Islamists will insist they are harmless, but it would be a falsehood to suggest the verse is not associated with doing battle with the infidel enemy. After all, these same words were once inscribed on the handles of Islamic swords and are today sung as Islamic battle songs by Jihadis.

According to Ibn Katheer, the 14th century Islamic scholar, in the verse “The Battle Array” (Al-Saff) Muslims are told that if they are willing to sacrifice their lives and possessions in the service of Allah, then not only will they find Paradise after death, but the conquest they desire over their enemy will be theirs very soon after they confront the enemy.

Another contemporary Islamic scholar, Mufti Muhammad Shafi in his nine-volume “Comprehensive commentary on Holy Qur’an”, had this to say about this verse.

“There is one blessing that will be granted (by Allah) in this world. Which is the Divine help and imminent victory, that is conquests of enemy territories. If the word Qarib (near) is the opposite of Hereafter, it would include all later Islamic conquests of Arab and non-Arab territories.”

Which begs the question. Who is the enemy this Toronto mural wants Muslims to fight against? Where is this non-Arab territory that this mural wishes us Muslims to conquer and be victorious over? Could it be Canada?

Why is this story not on the front page of the G&M or The Citizen, yet Quebec’s charter is being criticized over and over again in those newspaper..

Why ? Because in Canada, it is not acceptable to criticize minorities such as Muslims but it is acceptable to bash mainstream. That is what we call Multiculturalism.

You are right Tarek Fatah. These people instigate others and want others to have believe on their faith, think as they like and adopt their so called SARAT-e-Mustaqeem. Definitely they should be banned.

@ Al Nemo…… if you think the mural is “faked” why don’t you go to that location and see it for yourself instead of opening your ignoramus gab and making an utter fool of yourself.

It’s idiots like you who have encouraged such nonsense with your total ignorance of the Islamic/jihadist agenda

Our spineless politicians and law makers better wise up and get their act together before it’s too late. That mural MUST be taken down as soon as possible and those responsible for authorizing it’s erection must be brought to justice for fostering hatred and violence.
WAKE UP CANADA ….. before it’s too late.

To me, being an old signpainter, the mural itself is very well done. The message, like just about all religious faiths who believe their religion is the one religion, the one god to follow, are to me, just a huge pain in the ass and to look back in history, they have all been destructive and deadly – hardly loving – they have produced nothing but fear, chaos, anarchy – their messages are all written with blood, rather than paint.

It is true it is used by Jihadis all over the world; but it could also be interpreted that it does not exactly connote war only; but any other campaign no? Translated otherwise it could read: “God’s blessing/aid will make you succeed speedily”. That will be the common message of any religion, isn’t it? Anyway, since I dislike all religions and also the Islamic fundamentalism, I think better it be taken away and kept to some private premises if they want. However, since it is a verse from Quran and is displayed on a place of Islamic worship, I doubt whether the campaign will succeed or have much impact.

The Western World and Canada in particular are too too lenient.
Things have got to change and change fast.
Unions, Politicians, Political Organizations and ‘other’ groups should
realize that by ‘supporting’ certain minorities or in this case the Jihadis, they ‘help’ non other but to destroy our worlds as we know it!
Religion is a private matter and should stay as such.

Your customs and beliefs are just that -yours, Do not force them on ‘me’, I have my own!!
