One of the reasons I avoid attending Friday congregations at mosques is a specific ritual prayer uttered by most Mosque Imams just prior to the formal Friday prayer we Muslims refer to as the Juma’a.
In the prayer, the clerics ask Allah among other things to give “victory to Muslims over the ‘Qawm al-Kafirun’ the Arabic phrase that lumps all non-Muslims, that is Jews, Hindus, Christians, Atheists, Buddhists and Sikhs into one.
At one downtown Toronto Masjid run by the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Muslim Association of Canada. Far from being solemn and condemn the acts of terror being carried out by Muslims across the world, Imam Abdool Hamid showed no sense of humility or humbleness, remarking in English how he wished Islam “will become established in the land over all other religions, although the ‘Disbelievers’ (Jews, Christians, Hindus and Atheists) hate that.”
“I bear witness that there is no God worthy of worship but Allah. He is one and has no partner, and I also bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is the Servant and Messenger of Allah, whom Allah sent with the ‘Religion of Truth’ [Islam] and with Guidance so that this Truth and this Guidance [Islam] will become established in the land over all other religions, although the ‘Disbelievers’ (Jews, Christians, Hindus and Atheists) hate that.”
Later on he would repeat the ritual praying to Allah to grant Muslims victory over Non-Muslims.
Here is the actual Arabic used in his sermon and the English translation of the specific call for ‘Muslim victory over Non-Muslims’ and a prayer for those conducting Jihad, that is ‘Mujahideen':

It appears many of the mullahs and Imams are still dreaming of victory of Jihadies and spread of Islam as the religion of the world, where people are praying for peace. May some sense prevail in these cruel people to at least pray for those killed and try to stop this inhumane act of jihad against non-Muslims and Jews.
What happened in Paris is horrendous. I, yet, do not know of any decent muslim imam who has condoned the massacre.
What Tarek is reporting are actions and words of an errant imam. Abdool Hamid is an anomaly and an exception. He certainly does not represent the feelings of a vast majority of decent, law abiding and equally impacted Muslims, around the globe.
Tarek’s narrative is disingenuous and counter-productive. It is intellectually dishonest of him to make such a wide and sweeping statement and paint every cleric who controls the muslim pulpit, with the same brush. The types of Abdool Hamid should certainly be exposed, chastised and their actions condemned, vigorously. They have no place in a civilized society like ours. Now is not the time to enrage people’s sensibilities and advance one’s own personal agenda.
Tarek should back off, take a deep breath and cease to demonize the majority of imam’s for the stupidity of a disgraceful few.
Very flat excuse every Muslim gives who believes in beheading Kafir theory.
Nothing new to hear that this is not all but just one Imam.
Bottom line, now globally there is widespread attack on non-muslims which will not end till every Muslim is converted to human believes. Whatever the reason, under human rights umbrella they will win the war, a good fight is the only way for us to survive.
The prayer for ‘victory over the disbelieving folk’ is a quranic prayer but it means victory of true monotheists, in establishing monotheism and correct diving laws of righteousness (many of which are already established in western countries) - nothing to do with fighting with those who are not persecuting you.
It is terrible what happened in Paris and it behooves us to figure out ways to prevent it from happening again. For this we need to understand, not agree with, how it is viewed from the muslim perspective. They see their prophet being ridiculed (and many of the cartoons were offensive), their countries bombed and their lands taken. They see this dogma of ‘freedom of speech’ as hypocritical, because if someone as much as doubts the holocaust they are fired or accused of anti-semitism and sent to jail. They see all muslims being blamed because of a few. Were any Christians blamed, even when all of them stayed quet when 6 million jews were being killed?
To solve this problem I think people should apply this divine law from the Quran,(since the muslims are not applying it)
‘You shall respond in the nicest possible manner so the one who used to be your enemy may become your friend’.
We should also use the Quran to convince muslims that the Shariah law, based on hadith and sunna, from which these extremist and distorted beliefs stem, (and are utilized by imams) have nothing to do with God and His prophet.
I appreciate your efforts sir, we need ppl like you who believed is islam and god gifted them wisdom so please come forward and convenience muslim brothers to reform, west is not a enemy of islam might be I am wrong my mean some people may be disagree with me but west done lots of good for humanity west welcomed everyone and giving asylum us .west also doing many work for human rights and democracy so muslim should think and join the mainstream rather then try to change world and rule with sharia law and control people under these centuries old law, I hope muslim scholars will come and reform the islam.good luck and peace be upon you
Muslims would be even more infuriated when the realize what is really happening. The first pillar of Islam is that there is no god but God and Mohamed is His prophet. Walk into any mosque and say just the first part and they will get offended, correct you and if you refuse to add the second part, call you an enemy of Mohamed. Any muslim knows what I am talking about.
Interestingly enough, the ISIS flag says only the first part. No muslim organization would dare have this on the flag. The second part of the flag says God, Mohammad and messenger. Very unusual, a muslim would have either God and Mohamed or God and His messenger.
Obviously this flag was designed by some western agency that was ignorant of this, and which created ISIS as a tool to give muslims a bad name, and do the dirty work against muslims that they did not want to do.
I would like to thank Tarek Fatah for his goodness and courage. All people are lucky to have him with us.
