It’s interesting to note how most Islamist groups in America have condemned the beheading of journalist Foley with claims that such beheadings are not Islamic. As a Muslim, I know these groups are not being truthful. Here to enlighten us all on how to behead the non-Muslim is an Islamic cleric. Watch and weep.

Once again Tarek your bias against Muslims is evident. If you seriously believe this is a representative example of what most ordinary Muslim clerics advocate then you are sadly out of touch with reality. If you are cherry picking to promote an ill - considered view point then that is dishonest.
Either way such rants do you no credit, and consequently it is difficult to give your writing any weight.
Please condemn the people who are bringing a bad name to the community and not Mr Fatah for highlighting this.
EXACTLY. Ignoring the problem, or actively seeking to pretend it doesn’t exist does not help. The issue must be made public, the air must be cleared, and then Muslims themselves must rise up and stamp it out.
come to india if u wanna see the sea of these kind of Muslim followers and fanatics in every ghetto created every city in india. Its alarming for you too if u r against this idea of brutal and scary version of islam…go and tell liberals and educated muslims that entire religion is getting tarnished coz large large no: of muslims are engaging in these kind of crimes against humanity. U may not like it but the mess being created by these muslim fanatics is too big and their no: too large to be ignored as just a ‘representative example’.
Best Regards
Many Muslims have created the perception that this type of barbarity is just punishment for the “enemies” of Islam. Mr. Sheikh, you should condemn the cleric who is indoctrinating the children and thank Mr. Fatah for writing about it.
It would be nice if you were to isolate these “clerics” from the normal Muslims like me or many like me
You seem to take pleasure in commenting against Muslims… why don’t you go with the mainstream Muslim who REJECTS this kind of nonsense?
Regards
Imraan
Where are all of these muslims? I don’t see them out in the street protesting ISIL, or protesting Sharia law. I don’t see them writing articles in the media, or sending letters to the editor of the newspaper. I don’t see them doing anything to counteract this aspect of Islam.
There are but a few brave souls - and Tarek is one of them, that open stand up in opposition to this kind of stuff. He is doing exactly what should be done, but then you criticize him for it? Do you think that sitting quietly doing nothing is helping to solve the problem?
If you do - then YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
It isn’t until muslims wake up and realize that until THEY openly and forcefully reject and denounce this evil, it will continue to grow and will continue to place a black mark on all muslims.
This is an Islamic problem, and it is Islamic people who need to do something about it.
Why not write as Tarek has written? Why not tell in public what oyu think is wrong with Islamic jihadists. There are not too many Muslims who condemn the inhuman behavior of these lunatics and the clerics. Most say ” this is all happening because of wrong policies of the USA or the Western governments.Unfortunately most Muslims like you fail to form associations and clubs and denounce the blood thirsty jihadists and their supporters. Islam does not seem to allow criticism of the religion or the idiots who you say do not represent Islam. Islam did spread by sword and has used sword to control those who oppose it in any way. We need to learn to live in peace and resolve problems , howsoever difficult they are, in a non-violent way as Gandhi preached and practiced. Unless practicing Muslims believe in democracy, the new religion of peace and prosperity for all and freedom of speech and critical thinking, this world will not be able to experience peace which you and I and others want. Neither in the past has been an Islamic country which practiced equality and freedom of speech for all it’s citizens. Only democracy has done so despite all its pitfalls of slow progress. But democracy surely allows space for all to live with equality, justice and peace for all. Above all democracy ( the new religion of peace, freedom of thought and speech and equality) allows every one to practice any faith one believes in. Let us all condemn the lunatics who preach violence and make others practice it in the name of region.
If a determined group of Muslims could start an association or party to promote non-violence and peace then no one will blame Islam or Muslims for the heinous acts of jihadi terrorists.
Islam is an army
Imams are commanders
Muslims are soldiers
Mosque is place for preparing War (Jihad)
Islamic Prayer is Physical drill
Women are banned to enter in Mosque.
If women allowed entering in Mosque to pray alongwith Men, then the army (Islam) will become religion.
Imran please explain the video to me.
Ajay, where is your God in all this .ARMY, COMMANDERS, SOLDIERS, WAR, DRILL…Let the woman into the mosque to pray with the men and turn your face from evil and murder…. to religion and your God.
There is nothing my God and your God. God of all mankind is same. But people interprets the God by various names such as Hebrew calls Yahewa, Greek calls Jesus, Arabic Calls Al-llah and so on.
Well said! I never thought of it that way but there’s lots of truth in that. Usually after Friday prayers Christians get attacked in Egypt. After exiting the mosque. What you say makes sense.
Until Muslims start to get as outraged as non-Muslims about this kind of activity - savagery not just by a lunatic fringe in Islam but by far too many people - and form loud and active groups furiously condemning this activity and trying to root it out - the rest of the world will totally naturally ascribe this value to all Muslims. And rightly so. There’s something virulent in the religion that spins off savagery and needs to be aggressively destroyed from within.
Kudos to Tarek Fatah for trying to be one of those very loud voices! Tarek - you need to be joined by a great many co-religionists in this otherwise too quiet “mainstream”.
