And this writer knew Mahmood of GhaznI and the others he is judging sufficiently intimately to know they were only pretending a religious conviction?
Every army of that time looted. A few men could only control a larger conquored population by spreadinv fear and the myth of invincibility, like Israel today. Spoils of war were the reward for mercenaries and regulars alike. However wanton killing of anyone, especially those who surrendered, of women and children, non - combatants, those wounded, and the destruction of orchards and property was specifically forbidden in the conduct of war by the Prophet Mohammad.
The Germans in 1939 were Christians. No one accuses them of reprtedly destroying 6 million Jews in the holocaust as an act relating to promoting Christianity though they were Anti-Jew. Buddhists persecuting Muslims in a Myanmar today are not doing it to promote Buddhism. Condemning the practises of times past against different standards today, and then promoting it as the failing of a particular religion is a classic logical fallacy.
This kind of Muslim - bashing thinly disguised as scholarly discourse frankly makes me sick.
Intellectual hypocricy is the worst kind of barbarity because it perverts the values the world should live by.
The first thing is What Germans did in 1939 were neither in the name of nor to promote Christianity. Second thing it was the Christians who were fighting against Nazi not Muslims, Hindus, Jews or Buddhists.
As far as Buddhists persecuting Muslims in Myanmar is concerned, yes the population at odd with Islam there is Buddhists. Now the question is what is the role of Bangladesh a Muslim majority nation who forced majority of it’s Hindu and Buddhist population to abandon it’s home and move into India as refugee, on the border? Bangladesh is pushing back the Muslim refugee into Myanmar and Muslims in India protesting against it by demolishing its national memorials. The Muslims of Bangladesh is not coming to the rescue of it’s Brethren.
The problem lies in the fact that Buddhist of Myanmar doesn’t save themselves now, then they will be forced to leave as refugee in their neighboring countries. They need Guarantee that it will not happen.
As far as Muslim bashing is concern. You as a Muslim is concerned with the sufferings of Rhongiyas but not that of Buddhists. You are concern with what Israel do in Gaza but not with what is happening in Saudi, Iraq, ISIL territories, Libya or Syria. The reason, the people being killed are Muslims but are being killed by fellow Muslims in the name of Islam. So whatever done in the name of Allah is fairly good and that cannot be questioned.
I believe the Muslims of the world will be very much happy if Israel converts into Islam and kill many more muslims in Gaza strip, Buddhists of Myanmar converts into Islam and eliminate the whole Rhongya populace. I am sure you don’t have any issue with destruction of the tombs and Mazars in Medina by the Saudis but you have issue with the destruction of abandoned structure made by destroying Hindu temples in India.
And yes, one thing I agree with you is “Intellectual hypocrisy is the worst kind of barbarity because it perverts the values the world should live by”.
Every religion has something wrong with it and many claims to be the superior or the only way to god but still none but one prays for the destruction of everyone but itself.
The problem with your position, brother Imran Sheikh, is that Hitler’s nazi’s were not justifying their activities under the banner of religion. The oppressions and violations of human rights by most of today’s would be Jihadis is done under the banner of Islam and claims Islamic authority for it’s crimes against humanity. It becomes necessary for Muslims who abhor this abuse of our religion to speak out against it. The Qur’an enjoins us to stand up for justice, even if it be against our own selves.
Very lucid illustration of the Saudi phenomenon. Is this a headless juggernaut, a demon beyond human control? From what did Saudi Arabis draw its influence before the might of petro dollars?

Imran, I have no idea what you are referring to. This is just a cartoon about Saudi Arabia, not Mahmood Ghazni.
Tarek
May I suggest that you have a look at
Will Durant on the muslim Onslaught on Hindustan
The reports of muslim generals to Aurangazeb on their killings and conversions and
Tippu Sultans murders and conversions in Malabar
just to get an idea.
As A muslim you can feel proud.!

The ignorance in this cartoon is astounding. Saudi Arabia hates Hamas and Hezbollah with a passion. These groups are banned in Saudi Arabia.
Idiot. You are really idiot
Respected Dr Riffat Arbab
Could you please explain why my statement is wrong.I have sources to back them up.

I disagree on this one because Saudi Arabia hates the shi’a and Hezbollah.
