The footage, filmed by local civilians in Gaza and uploaded to YouTube, shows cattle tied to poles, trees and vehicles before being stabbed in the neck and eyes.
One animal was kneecapped by shots from an assault rifle. The animal rights group, ‘Animals Australia’ says the footage was filmed during an Islamic animal sacrifice ritual that marked the Muslim festival of “Eid al Adha” in October 2013 following the pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca.
